Longtime U&R Professional Land Surveyor Teodoro E. “Theo” Martinez has just started his third (non-consecutive) term as the President of the Santa Clara / San Mateo Chapter of the California Land Surveyors’ Association (CLSA).
The CLSA is the primary professional association for Professional Land Surveyors licensed and working in the State of California. The CLSA was organized over 50 years ago. The association is active in promoting the profession of Land Surveying throughout California.
This includes lobbying at the State Capitol in order to promote the interests of the profession and the public as the public is affected by Land Surveying legislation.

Mr. Martinez has been active in the association for over 15 years, having won a CLSA student scholarship while attending the Land Surveying program at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose.
He has also coordinated the chapter’s participation in Physics, Science, and Math Days at California’s Great America, the local theme park in Santa Clara County. Additionally, he has organized field trips to the David Rumsey Map Center at Stanford University and to the Point of Origin at the top of Mount Diablo near Walnut Creek CA.
